Position overview


We are seeking a specialized solicitor with 3+ years of experience, ideally with a focus on corporate restructuring and related commercial matters. The successful candidate will have strong negotiation and drafting skills, experience working with lenders and financial institutions, and the ability to advise clients on complex business arrangements. A partial book of business is welcome but not required.

Requirements

Key responsibilities

  • Advise clients on corporate restructuring, including negotiations with lenders, banks, and business development companies.

  • Assist with buy/sell transactions and related commercial negotiations.

  • Review and draft business agreements, loan agreements, and other commercial contracts.

  • Handle tax-related negotiations and settlement discussions.

  • Conduct forbearance negotiations and settlement arrangements in restructuring contexts.

  • Provide advice on probate and estates matters as they intersect with bankruptcy/insolvency (no wills or conveyancing).

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues on multidisciplinary matters involving both solicitor and litigation expertise.

  • Participate in business development and contribute to the growth of the firm’s solicitor practice.


Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of solicitor experience, with demonstrated strength in corporate restructuring and commercial transactions.

  • Experience in negotiations with lenders, financial institutions, and tax authorities.

  • Strong drafting and analytical skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and client service skills.

  • Ability to manage files independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • A commitment to professional ethics and collaborative practice.
