Our Story

Reedman Law's inception can be traced back to its founder, Cody Reedman. Cody began his legal journey as an articling student under a senior insolvency lawyer, Murray K. Morrison. He then gained experience as an associate in various small law firms throughout Vancouver and the Greater Vancouver Area. As a junior lawyer, Cody swiftly built a thriving litigation practice, being the sole litigator in a seven-lawyer firm. Throughout this time, Cody's passion for insolvency law and white collar crime continued to grow.

Cody's interest in these fields was ignited during his childhood in North Vancouver, where he often read articles by David Baines, a Vancouver Sun reporter. These articles fueled his curiosity in business law, investment matters, and white collar crime. As a result, Cody shifted his focus from general civil litigation to bankruptcy, insolvency, and debtor-creditor law, while also incorporating select white collar crime and investment cases into his practice.

After leaving his associate position, Cody joined Coal Harbour Law as associate counsel and simultaneously pursued a BCIT Forensic Investigation of Fraud and Financial Crime Program, which he completed within the year. Soon after, he established his own practice as a sole practitioner, initially renting an office in the back of a solicitors' firm in North Vancouver, near Lonsdale Quay.

In 2019, Reedman Law relocated to downtown Vancouver to share office space with a criminal defense and administrative law firm in the Burrard Building. Between 2020 and 2021, the firm grew from a single lawyer to include legal support staff and articled two students through our firm, and summer students providing them with exposure to insolvency law and debtor-creditor law. Our team now comprises Cody Reedman, Grace Lindsey (articled student), Andrea Wong (paralegal), and our office manager and paralegal Jackie as well as various independent contractors to allow us to deliver high quality legal services.

Reedman Law has also invested in legal subscriptions and technology, enabling its team members to work remotely and provide top notch client services.
