About The Firm
We are a boutique law firm focusing on bankruptcy, insolvency, and commercial litigation. Our team provides strategic, client-focused legal solutions in a supportive and collegial environment. Our firm has appeared at every level of court in British Columbia and twice at the Supreme Court of Canada.

We are seeking a litigator with 1-4 years of experience, ideally with a focus on corporate-commercial litigation, insolvency, foreclosure and security enforcement. The successful candidate will have strong negotiation and drafting skills, advocacy experience in chambers and before the registrar, and handling litigation files. Further, the successful candidate will assist senior lawyers with parts of their files and carriage of their own files commensurate to their year of call and experience. A partial book of business is welcome but not required.
Requirements
Who We’re Looking For
We care more about who you are than what your transcript says.
You have worked before (outside of law). Restaurant, retail, trades, military, or office work. Second-career students and non-traditional backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
You are genuinely interested in insolvency or commercial law. You don’t need to be an expert. But if you chose creditors’ remedies, insolvency or commercial law courses and can explain why you found them interesting, that tells us something. If you’ve read anything in the Annual Review of Insolvency Law or the Banking and Finance Law Review before applying, even better.
You are self-sufficient. This is a small firm. You will get instructions and access to experienced lawyers when you need direction.
You are coachable. You receive edits without defensiveness and apply corrections to the next draft without being reminded.
You have a quality-control method. Date checks, cite checks, a personal checklist - whatever works for you. The point is that you catch your own errors before someone else does.
Key responsibilities
Conduct contested bankruptcy and insolvency hearings in BC Supreme Court
Draft and argue chambers applications and hearings before the Registrar
Assist with regulatory enforcement defence, including matters involving the BC Securities Commission and other regulatory bodies

Conduct examinations for discovery and debtor examinations
Research and draft legal memoranda on complex issues at the intersection of insolvency, fraud, and regulatory law
Manage a caseload of files with increasing independence, from intake through resolution
Work collaboratively with colleagues on multidisciplinary matters involving both solicitor and litigation expertise
Participate in business development and contribute to the growth of the firm’s insolvency practice
Qualifications
1–4 years of litigation experience, ideally with some exposure to insolvency, commercial litigation, or regulatory matters (though strong general litigation candidates will be considered).
Strong drafting and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and client service skills.
Ability to manage files independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
What we offer
Competitive compensation and benefits ($95,000–$140,000 depending on experience).
