Faye Griffiths*

A key part of Faye's approach is her ability to find tailored solutions for each client. She’s known for her calm, commercial mindset that helps guide clients through difficult, sometimes overwhelming, financial struggles. Her international experience, including a role as Regional Legal Counsel for a global oil and gas company in Singapore, gives her a broad perspective that’s especially helpful for businesses with cross-border or international concerns.
Faye’s recent representations have included the following:

• Representing an excavation company with the implementation of an informal restructuring and successful negotiation of standstill arrangements and payment holidays with its entire creditor group.

• Representing a large property developer in connection with multiple proceedings commenced by its secured creditors under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.

• Guiding the directors and shareholders of a brewery in financial distress through challenging trading period, assessing restructuring and bankruptcy options, and contingency planning.

• Representing a group of individual investors owed substantial amounts through a failed property investment, including advising on both litigation against the company and its directors personally, and bankruptcy options.

• Advising various corporate clients on forbearance arrangements with secured creditors to ensure continued operations during periods of financial volatility.

• Representing individual debtors in connection with a highly contentious foreclosure process involving the Farm Debt Mediation Act and achieving a successful outcome for the clients.​

 

Faye lives in Whistler, BC, and when she is not working with clients, you’ll find her enjoying her backyard, whether skiing, hiking, or biking and generally trying to keep up with her young son. She has a deep understanding of the unique needs, and challenges, of the Sea-to-Sky business community and is dedicated to offering tailored support to her clients.
